About the Event

Join us virtually on Sunday, May 17 starting at 4PM for "Reflections in Time," our next Constellations Virtual Concert! We're so excited to be presenting both the oldest and newest works yet on a Constellations concert - including a world premiere of Juilliard faculty Jonathan Dawe's Before the Hour of Terce and a special performance of our very own Daniel Pesca's In Solitude, works for solo cello written commissioned in response to the ongoing pandemic.  Jonathan's piece is a brand new work - you can't hear it anywhere else (at least for now), so don't miss it!

Registration through this page is appreciated (but not required) so we can know who's watching!  As usual, the performance will be posted on our home page (www.constellationsmusic.org) as well as on our Facebook page, and available online for 72 hours to enjoy at your convenience. Access to the video is free and we encourage you to continue to spread the word and share with family and friends. We're looking into ways to make the concert experience more interactive through cyberspace and ways of reaching audiences who may be struggling the most during the pandemic over the summer - stay tuned for more details!

For our artist roster this week, we're extending a warm welcome to cellist Paul Dwyer from Chicago and harpsichordist Nadja Lesaulnier all the way from Basel, Switzerland!

The program will feature the following works:

Jean-Henri d'Anglebert: Pièces de clavecin

Suite No. 2 in G Minor

         I. Prélude

         II. Allemande

         III. Sarabande

         IV. Seconde Courante

J.S. Bach: The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book II

Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, BWV 855

Jonathan Dawe: Before the Hour of Terce

Daniel Pesca: In Solitude

Joseph dall'Abaco: Caprice No. 1 in C Minor

Composer and Programming Committee member Daniel Pesca will host a discussion panel with all the performers and composers to discuss their insights into the program and the inspirations behind the featured works.

A big THANK YOU to Hae-Soon Hahn & Steve Rosenbaum, Lenore & Paul Brantley, Rick Lenon & Leslie Hsu, Rebecca Filbey, Karen Kotulis-Carter and an anonymous donor for sponsoring the musicians for our sixth Constellations Virtual Concert!

All of our Virtual Concert programs are crafted by the Programming Committee and specially performed by the artists in their own home for the Constellations audience.  You can donate online by clicking here or texting CONSTELLATIONS to 44-321.  All contributions for this campaign will go 100% to the artists!

Special thanks to Hae-Soon Hahn & Steve Rosenbaum for sponsoring the Constellations Programming Committee for our entire Virtual Concerts project!
