Join us as we mark our return to our downtown D.C. venue (after 2 long years!) with an explosion of musical energy across a two-day, three-concert extravaganza! Each of the three concerts offers its own unique flavor while also crafted as a unified narrative. Sample one or two of your choosing, or take in the whole experience - the choice is yours!

Whatever you decide, you'll be inspired by works that honor our capacity to rise above the fray, tap into our inner strength and conquer seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Honoring that theme, RISE features many artists and composers that Constellations hosted during our Virtual Concert seasons at the outset of the pandemic, bringing these dear friends of the series together in D.C. for a set of programs that can't be experienced anywhere else.

The Saturday afternoon performance for RISE will showcase a brand new concert format for Constellations: (Re)sounding! (Re)sounding features the world premiere of a brand new work commissioned by Constellations, followed by an intimate Q&A session with the composer and performers, and concluding with a second performance of the work. Become an essential part of the compositional process as you witness the “birth” of a new work and hear directly from the artists that created it!

This inaugural (Re)sounding performance presents Walk with me, my joy by Constellations Programming Committee member Daniel Pesca, a new work for flute, cello, mallet percussion, and piano.  Walk with me, my joy was inspired by the indelible memories of childhood - blurred by the passage of time yet still shaping our foundation for life.

Individual concert tickets for RISE are available for $40 for the Friday and Saturday evening performances, and $20 for the Saturday afternoon (Re)sounding performance. Bundle tickets to all three performances are also available for a special discounted rate of $90.
