Join us for a very special 40-year reunion of the Nisaika Quartet, prizewinners in the 1984 Evian International String Quartet Competition, comprised of violinists Violaine Melançon and David Salness, violist Ed Gazouleas, and cellist Peter Stumpf, along with guest artists Katherine Murdock (viola) and Eric Kutz (cello). The members of Nisaika met as students at the illustrious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Following their success there, they each went on to excel in separate performing and teaching careers in major orchestras, conservatories, and other music institutions around the country, including the LA Philharmonic, Curtis Institute, Peabody Institute, Indiana University, University of Maryland, and Tanglewood.
