About the Event
What can music communicate when words alone are not enough? Pianist and U.S. Arts Envoy Pauline Yang brings an extraordinary perspective to the intersection of music, culture, and international diplomacy. A concert pianist who made her Carnegie Hall recital debut at age eleven, Yang has also trained in international relations and traveled the world on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, using music to connect with audiences and communities across cultures—including a historic performance at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. For this special Constellations program, chamber music and conversation are woven together as Yang shares stories and insights from her work around the world, exploring how musicians can build connections across borders, what happens when music enters diplomatic spaces, and why listening itself can become a powerful form of exchange.
