About the Event
Please join us for Metamorphosis, a special chamber music event at our main venue in downtown Washington, D.C. Metamorphosis celebrates compositions that transcend their origins and create an experience of extraordinary depth and beauty.
Many composers take the materials handed down to them from prior generations and build up their own style, little by little. But in this concert, we will explore the works of composers that took these materials and raised them to dizzying new heights, creating truly revolutionary masterworks that both respected their forebears and revolutionized the music of their time. The word "metamorphosis" describes a process of fundamental transformation - a set of ordinary elements that recombines and evolves into far more than just the sum of those parts. It also embodies a sense of mystery in how that transformative power works its magic, drawing us in with a compelling narrative that taps into our innate desire to become more than what we are today. We invite you to experience that mesmerism together with us on March 3, 2020!
