For our season finale, Constellations Chamber Concerts presents the icarus Quartet performing the world premiere of Artemis, a new evening-length work by Andy Akiho. Inspired simultaneously by Artemis, the ancient Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt, and NASA’s ongoing Artemis missions returning humanity to lunar exploration, Akiho creates a musical world of propulsive rhythms, shimmering textures, grooving melodies, and constantly shifting patterns. icarus Quartet's combination of two pianists and two percussionists will bring both explosive physical energy and remarkable sonic range to Akiho’s imagination. Ancient myth, modern technology, and the timeless human impulse to explore converge in a landmark new work created for a new era of lunar discovery.
